Community Grants
Applications are accepted for our community grant program made up of estate funds and two active endowments: the Vital Victoria Fund and the Environment Fund. Many donors also consider the applications before they recommend their fund distributions. Most funds dispersed by the Victoria Foundation are designated by donors for a specific registered Canadian charity.
The Vital Victoria Fund
Distributions from our largest discretionary fund allow us to respond to what the community tells us is important in the annual Victoria’s Vital Signs® report. Up to 50 per cent of the balance of this fund is allocated to board-mandated priorities arising from Vital Signs. The current priorities are for projects that increase childcare space and affordable housing or reduce homelessness.
The Environment Fund
This active endowment fund accepts donations and includes allocations from other estates for environmental projects. It focuses now on initiatives that address climate change in our region.
