New resource - Giving Guide
We are pleased to share with you our newest resource: Victoria Foundation’s Giving Guide. This guide is designed to assist you in conversations with your clients. It explains how your clients may be able to reduce their taxes, increase their heirs’ inheritance, leave a legacy for the community, and teach their children about philanthropy.
As you know, giving back to the community through the Victoria Foundation is easy, and your clients can choose from a variety of giving options that best suits their philanthropic and financial goals. We will take care of the paperwork, give counsel on strategic giving, and connect them with charitable organizations that are meaningful to their interests.
If you would like more information about our gift planning and granting services or are interested in a presentation to your company please contact one of our Philanthropic Services staff members at 250.381.5532.
As December approaches, your clients may want to take advantage of a charitable tax receipt at the end of the calendar year, but wait until the New Year to decide which charities to support. They may do this through their permanent fund or through a pass-through grant that flows directly to their chosen charities.
Donations by credit card may be made on-line via our website until December 31 or phoned into the office at 250.381.5532 until noon on December 23. Donations by cheque must be post-marked by December 31, 2016. Our mailing address is #200 – 703 Broughton Street, Victoria BC V8W 1E2.
Please note: gifts of publicly listed securities received after December 5, 2016 will be receipted as of the day they are received in the Victoria Foundation's account. However, the grants to chosen charities may be delayed until January 2017.
The Victoria Foundation office will be closed from 12:00 pm on December 23 until 8:30 am on January 3, 2017.

These projects reflect community needs identified in Victoria’s Vital Signs® and across the Victoria Foundation’s five areas of interest, and carried out by organizations serving and touching countless members of the Greater Victoria and Southern Gulf Island communities. Whether you are advising your clients about their estate planning or their annual charitable giving, we invite you to share this booklet with them as an example of how they can support various causes in our region.
