Grant Programs

In our 75th year of connecting people who care with causes that matter®, the Foundation invites and accepts applications from charitable organizations primarily in the Victoria Capital Region District, and in some cases, across the province. Please click on the heading to find out which category suits your project.

 Community Funds

There are 21 estate funds left by generous donors and two active endowments  (The Victoria Fund and The Environment Fund) that support charitable organizations in southern Vancouver Island that undertake projects that address several areas:

  • Victoria’s Vital Signs® issues and 11 indicator areas. Please refer to the most recent report posted on our website. Child care spaces and improving affordable housing and homelessness were the 2011 priorities set by the Board of Directors for hte Victoria Fund, for example. These will be revisited in the spring of 2012.
  • education and employment for adults with developmental disabilities
  • ways to improve seniors' wellness
  • palliative care
  • medical research
  • programs for single parents to prepare them for post-secondary education
  • climate change

The 2011 deadline for submitting grant applications has now passed.  We thank all of those who applied. Successful organizations are listed on our webiste.
