Irving K. Barber BC Scholarship Society

The Irving K. Barber BC Scholarship Society is pleased to offer the following scholarship and award programs in 2010:

  • BC Aboriginal Student Award - Over 90 Awards - Deadline: May 15
  • Premier's Scholarship for Studies Abroad - 1 Award - Deadline: May 17
  • One World Scholarship - availability and deadline varies by post secondary institution

The Ike Barber BC Transfer Scholarship, Pacific Horizons, and the One World Scholarships for International Students will not be offered in 2010.  Please check back in early 2011.

Aboriginal

The BC Aboriginal Student Award program provides awards of $1,000 - $3,500 to Aboriginal people pursuing post-secondary education that is at least nine weeks in length.

International

To support the international exchange of knowledge and culture, the Irving K. Barber British Columbia Scholarship Society, in partnership with the Victoria Foundation, hosts four scholarship funds designed to support students studying internationally.  They are:

  1. Premier’s One World Scholarship for BC students studying internationally for at least one academic year.
  2. One World Scholarship for BC students who want to participate in an international study/work program of three weeks to one academic year in length.
  3. One World International Scholarship for students from the People’s Republic of China studying at one of BC’s public post-secondary institutions.
  4. Pacific Horizons Scholarship for BC students to study in a short-term international cultural or language learning studies program.

Transfer

Through the Ike Barber Transfer Scholarship program, awards of $5,000 each are available to students who choose to transfer from a public college to another public post-secondary institution in BC to complete their degree.

Adoption & Permanency

The Lex Reynolds Adoption & Permanency Trust Fund is now accepting EOIs for Spring 2010 mini-grants. The deadline for submissions is April 6th.
