Welcome to our 2009/2010 annual report. Appropriately themed More than Money, this year’s report serves to demonstrate the strength and resilience not only of our organization, but of our community.
The fox that you will find on various pages throughout the report symbolizes our ability to persevere during a year that presented interesting challenges. We chose to focus on some new and different opportunities that would enable us to achieve our mission of inspiring giving, by thoughtfully caring for the assets entrusted to us, and by investing in people, ideas and activities that strengthen our communities.
We now know that our persistence paid off. Moving forward into the second half of 2010, the fact that our granting is both sustainable and predictable is something that provides our valuable charitable sector with peace of mind.
Work has begun on our 2010 Victoria’s Vital Signs®. Don’t forget to visit our website in late June so you can take part in the indicator grading survey. Broad–based citizen participation is critical to best capture a thorough understanding of the challenges and opportunities that exist in our region.
Last, but certainly not least, the Foundation is fast approaching its 75th anniversary!
The year 2011 will mark a monumental milestone in our history, and planning is under way to ensure a worthy celebration.
As always, thank you for making it possible to make a difference in our community.
