Greater Victoria's Youth included in 2009 Vital Signs report

Thank you to all of those youth who took part in the inaugural 2009 Victoria's Vital Signs® youth survey! For the first time, as part of our annual community check-up, we encouraged youth to grade our city and identify what they see as priorities in a broad range of areas, including: Arts and Culture, Around Town, Youth Voice, Growing Up Green - Youth and the Environment, Poverty: Rich vs. Poor, Hanging Out, Health and Wellness, Youth Housing and Homelessness, Education and Learning, Safety, Work, Getting Around and Identity and Belonging: Our Community.

Responses to the survey served as the basis of the Vital Signs youth section sponsored by the TELUS Victoria Community Board and are part of the 2009 Victoria's Vital Signs report.

The youth component will be used to broaden understanding and awareness of the opinions and experiences of youth, and give you - Victoria's youth - an opportunity to have input and potentially make a meaningful difference in public policy and community investment decision-making processes.

Thank you for grading Victoria and identifying opportunities for positive change. By using the letter grade system you provided your thoughts on how Victoria is doing in each of the subject areas.

A= Awesome! Victoria rocks!
B= Good, but definitely could do better.
C= OK. Not good, but not terrible.
D= Brutal. A long way to go.
F= Fail. Needs attention pronto!

Check out the results of the youth section now!
