In 2009, the Victoria Foundation provided over 700 grants with a total value of $9.2 million to charitable organizations and 325 scholarships to students, drawing on the generous gifts of donors past and present, and resulting from investments made by hosted organizations. We invite you to refer to our Annual Report for a listing of the hundreds of charitable organizations that received distributions from our various granting streams in 2009. Discretionary granting benefitted 41 organizations listed here.
We partner with Black Press to add value to the philanthropic community by spreading the news in community newspapers about local charitable organizations' great work. In the past we have also highlighted the important work of our talented community advisor volunteers in "more than money" services.
